Unlocking mobile internet through a blockchain micro-spotting and advertising system.
Mobile internet affordability and mobile capital accessibility are the main prohibitors for users to have unfettered internet usage.
Centralized big telcos, big banks and governments make it unfeasible for users in emerging markets to create capital and have access. In fact, the poor end up paying more for banking and telco access than the rich.
AirFox is solving the Mobile Dead Capital problem to unlock mobile accessibility for the underserved.
AirFox’s solution harnesses the decentralized power of the Ethereum blockchain and advertising to give users “AirTokens”, a new crypto-currency redeemable for mobile data, and eventually physical and digital goods. Users can then establish credit history through their opted-in device data and advertising behavior, enabling AirFox to fund spots via the AirTokens to any person with a smart phone.
AirFox is already integrated with hundreds of wireless carriers buying mobile data in bulk in order to have economies of scale.
Carrier Coverage Spreadsheet
AirFox will replace the current mobile ecosystem with a more efficient, decentralized mobile ecosystem that is encompassed around the AirToken, a decentralized blockchain technology, that enables more efficient communication and transactions between the wireless carriers, publishers, advertisers, and mobile users.

The AirToken is a new Ethereum ERC20 token that unlocks free mobile internet through advertising and spot rewards. Users can earn AirTokens by opting into advertisements and claiming spots, redeemable for mobile data recharges across 500 wireless
carriers.
Users will receive AirToken rewards for opt-in advertising (instead of the ads being an invisible burden on their data) and spots of AirTokens based on our internal AirFox user “credit-score.”
AirFox will programmatically buy airtime and data in bulk from carriers. Carriers want to maximize spectrum and data usage from subscribers in order to maximize revenue.
Publishers will have higher monetization, new user reach, and a better user experience. Publishers can implement our AirToken reward, spot, and advertising system to enable higher user output.
The first phase will enable users to earn free AirTokens via advertising for mobile recharges across 500 wireless carriers. Users can earn AirTokens via the Android AirFox Browser.
The second phase is enabling qualified users to redeem spots of AirTokens by collaterizing their prepaid account balance and using our AirFox internal user scoring algorithm. We will also expand the use of AirTokens for items outside of mobile recharges.
Users will be able to redeem spots of AirTokens for physical and digital products across our ecosystem.

The third phase is extending the use of AirTokens and our advertising / spot blockchain system outside of our own applications and across a direct network of publishers and advertisers.
Publishers and advertisers can reward their users with AirTokens via advertising "moments" and use our spotting system to provide capital for in-app purchases. This will be provided via an API and SDK that publishers can integrate
into their applications and websites.

AirFox was founded to provide mobile affordability to the underserved, low-income consumer who is restrained by the cost of data and can’t fully enjoy the benefits of the smartphone.
Sara and Victor met while working at Google and saw first hand the power of free search. AirFox wants to take the concept of free search and apply it to mobile data.
We believe there is tremendous opportunity for the blockchain to augment our current offerings and become the foundation across all of our products given its decentralized and secure ledger system. By ledgering smartphone data in emerging markets, we create additional revenue opportunity for advertisers, publishers and carriers because, by unlocking the underground dead mobile capital of the unserved users in emerging markets, we are expanding the pie for everyone.
AirFox chose to raise funds through an ICO because it is a better fit our business model as a blockchain company that seeks to provide affordable data plans to the masses. Traditional VC fundraises would restrict our ability to respond to customer needs by reducing our control over the business. Not to mention, most VCs are too risk-averse to pursue our market, considering our users are considered low-income and in hard-to-reach places in emerging markets.
The blockchain’s decentralized nature and goal of creating a more egalitarian internet supports AirFox’s business model of developing a more efficient mobile ecosystem. Blockchain technology also enables more efficient creation, transfer, and use of AirTokens across users, carriers, advertisers and publishers.
By ledgering smartphone data in emerging markets, we create additional revenue opportunity for advertisers, publishers and carriers because, by unlocking the underground ‘dead mobile capital’ of the unserved users in emerging markets, we are expanding the pie for everyone.
AirToken is the token for mobile access. AIR is a cryptocurrency created by AirFox to enable a more decentralized and efficient mobile ecosystem between carriers, advertisers and publishers to unlock the ‘dead mobile capital’ of data-starved and unbanked or underbanked customers in emerging markets. Through AirTokens, users can recharge their prepaid mobile data plans through direct purchases, earning via advertising, and claiming "spots" of AIR.
AirTokens are access to mobile capital in emerging markets, first for the internet than eventually other products and services. When consumers purchase or earn an AirToken they are essentially buying into our vision and buying utility for their own use, either for themselves or for others. The tokens provide real utility enabling anyone to recharge over 5B prepaid sim cards across the world. AirTokens are a utility product and are not securities or investment instruments. They are not intended for speculation.
AirFox will take the funds raised in the ICO crowdfunding token sale to develop our spotting program and launch our business internationally in emerging markets.
We are targeting to raise up to $15 million USD, with a $21 million USD hard-cap. We do not plan to have a follow-on offering.
ETH will be accepted in the crowdsale. You will be required to have an Ethereum wallet pointed at the token/crowdsale address to participate in the crowdsale.
AirTokens are Ethereum derived tokens. If you hold BTC or some other crypto-currency it can be exchanged for ETH and used to participate in the crowdsale.
The goal is to raise $15 million USD equivalent in ETH for selling 70% of our AirToken supply that may fluctuate depending on how much we raise; this will determine the exchange rate, which will be set immediately before deploying the contract. Following the ICO, the value of AirTokens to ETH will float according to the market. There is no plan to have a follow-on offering. Crowdsale purchased AirTokens are transferrable once the ICO closes.
The crowdsale will begin October 5th and remain open for 30 days.
Crowdsale purchased AirTokens are immediately transferable.
AirTokens can be transferred into the AirFox Internal AirToken Ledger.
AirTokens can be redeemed through the AirFox Browser Android app for mobile data, and eventually for digital services and physical goods. AirTokens themselves have no inherent value and can only be redeemed at rates determined by AirFox.
AirToken is a product, not a security.
Carriers are incentivized to maximize revenue per user since they have high fixed costs.
80% of the world is prepaid but prepaid users have 1/8th of the ARPU of post-paid users with often 3X the churn. In addition, Only 30% of carriers’ spectrum capacity is used so wireless carries benefit from working with AirFox by enabling us to buy data in bulk and monetize these low ARPU subscribers and get them to use more data.
Pre-paid MVNOs like Cricket Wireless and Boost are already established business model examples that serve a niche and a purpose for the underlying Tier-1 Carrier.
Advertisers will have higher ROI, fewer intermediaries, better data targeting, less fraud, and can reach more low-income users.
Advertisers and publishers will be able to target and reach unbanked prepaid subscribers.
Advertisers and programmatic networks can also choose to directly sponsor all or a segment of users with AirTokens for opt-in, attention, or engagement.
Publishers will have higher monetization, new user reach, and a better user experience.
Publishers can implement our AirToken reward, spotting, and advertising system to enable higher user output.
Publishers can offer an in-app purchase, digital products, and physical products as a spot. They can also allow users to one-click buy their services using their AirToken balance. Advertising-based publishers can also reward the users with AirTokens for being active users or by creating an actionable moment within the publisher's application or website.
